The Sustainable and Resilient Built Environment Lab (SARBEL) at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF) is excited to announce an M.S./Ph.D. graduate assistant position with full financial support. This opportunity starts as early as January 2025, inviting motivated individuals to join our team for groundbreaking research in building science and the sustainable built environment.


Position: Graduate Assistant (M.S./Ph.D.)

Start Date: January 2025
Location: SUNY ESF, State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry

Application Requirements:

We are seeking candidates with strong academic records and backgrounds in:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Building and Architectural Engineering
  • Building Science
  • Construction Engineering and Management
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Computer Science or Engineering
  • Related fields

Required Skills:

  • Computer programming experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C/C++).

Preferred Experience:

  • Computer Vision
  • Machine Learning and Deep Learning
  • Building Performance Simulation (e.g., EnergyPlus)
  • Sensing Technologies

For International Students:

  • TOEFL internet-based score of 90 or an IELTS minimum overall band of 7.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must meet the admission standards specified by the SUNY ESF Graduate School.
